Retro Game Palette
An 8-color arcade-style palette with a warm mid tone, deep shadow and a punchy accent — the safest all-purpose starting point for 16×16 game sprites.
Where to use this palette
- Characters: use #1a1c2c for outlines, #ffcd75 sparingly as the lightest touch.
- Environment: #38b764 / #a7f070 cover grass ramps; #ef7d57 for wood and dirt.
- Shading: shift shadows toward #5d275d, never toward pure black.
- UI: #f4f4f4 text on #1a1c2c panels gives strong contrast at small sizes.
Use this palette
Copy the hex values above into the editor's Palette tab, or rebuild the ramp from one base color in the Palette Generator.
